To:  Monforton Parents and Community

On behalf of the faculty and staff and the Board of Trustees, welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!  Monforton School is widely regarded as one of the best K-8 schools in Montana.  It is recognized for its quality of education, its exceptional faculty and the close interaction between students and faculty.  In an idyllic environment, Monforton School is a safe and nurturing haven for its students.  If you are a new family to Monforton, we welcome you to the community.  Please jump in and get involved.  We need your help and assistance.

Monforton School is academically rigorous.  As parents, you support the school’s efforts when you communicate with teachers and are not complacent about mediocre work or grades.  Your high expectations and unflagging support for your children are two of the most valuable gifts you can give.  Monforton teachers shape the intellectual life of this school.  They know that success is reached when, at the end of thousands of teachable moments, your children have pushed their personal boundaries of thinking and learning.  The product of a Monforton School education is a student who is intellectually accomplished, curious, critical, confident, self-disciplined, lives ethically, and is driven to learn.

Our word for the 2011-2012 school year is flexibility as enrollment exceeds its historic high and we literally burst at the seams.  Be aware that we have two extra days built into this year’s calendar for moving.  Also be aware that parking, drop-off and pick-up areas will change as construction continues.

If children are the heart of Monforton School, then its soul belongs to all those who care about it.  We are its stewards.  Founded in 1883, we are a proud and distinguished school district, but do not rest on our laurels.  Over this next school year, join us in envisioning, creating, and reflecting on how we can set the bar even higher to launch our children into their world and their futures well.
