We are up and running with Monforton's first Art Club.  We have started with two Thursday's a month! And students keep asking if we can meet more often.
We started with independent projects. Students picked their media and subjects.  Projects ranged from drawing the human form from a wooden "dummy" with charcoal and chalk, to printmaking. Students carved wood blocks and printed them, learning how to label a print and make and edition.
Last week we had the visit of Sam Foster, Brynley's dad, who showed us how to make sculpey beads and other fantastic little treasures. This week we will be able to string them on wires, thread to make jewelry or mobiles.
We are having a grand time!
